Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida
I used a contracting company called ELR Restoration to get my roof replaced. They advertise free roof replacement by collecting the money from the insurance company to perform the work. They took our claim money and have not performed the work. it has been 15 months and they keep pushing the repair date back. Can I get that check back and find another company to replace my roof?

What likely happened is they cashed that check 14 months ago. Talk to a local lawyer about your options, but there's a good chance the only way to recover the money is to sue them. Meanwhile, you will probably have to find another company to fix the roof and pay for it out of your pocket.
