When a general contractor does not pay a subcontractor, can the subcontractor strip the general contractor of his/her license?

Subcontractors typically file liens pursuant to Florida's construction lien statute for nonpayment by a GC.

Download this form and file a complaint. However, I think it would depend on whether or not the Contractor was actually paid by the owner, and would depend on the terms of your contract with the contractor. For instance, if the contractor's contract provided that you get paid when the GC gets paid then the GC did nothing wrong by not paying you since you assumed the risk.
