Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida
We own a home that we are now finding has numerous code violations. It was built in 2004 and we purchased it in 2006. When we got a pre sale inspection done we were informed that there are numerous code violation that we will have to have repaired prior to the sale. Some of these include replacing the hurricane straps, reinforcing the trusses, and correcting electrical fuse (not on GCFI).
Who if anyone should we be addressing these isues too. I find it hard to believe that these even passsed the initial inspection considering the severity.

Look at your contract. If you closed knowing of the violations, you may be stuck paying for them.
