Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida
I had my inground pool fixed. The contract we agreed on was 9,500. The pool was suppose to have been completed in 2 weeks, it took close to 4 weeks. I made three payments. The last payment was paid on July 22. Today is Sept 5th and i'm getting a "notice to owner". pertaining to Florida statues 713.06. They are now telling me they went over the agreed contract cost of 9500 and need 1,000. more due to the materials. I paid what was agreed per our contract. Can they put a lien on my home even if I paid what we agreed? why am i receiveing this letter 45 days after the work was completed and I paid what was agreed?
