Statutory is one year unless the contract in which both parties signed provides for a longer term. A lot of A/C contracts for new units have a longer term outlined in the contract for labor and materials. Recommend you review the contract to see if a time period is listed in the agreement. Also, even if they filed the claim 18 months later, if they notified the contractor of the issue prior to the statutory time limit, the person whom filed the claim is within the time limit.
