Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida

Lawsuit with contractor my lawyer withdrew? How do I end this now?

I retained a lawyer after a general contractor abandoned the work at my home and never built the kitchen. I had to hire a new contractor to build kitchen and pay them.. After 6mo the lawyer I was paying said he could not handle the case... i was left w/out a lawyer to find that the contractors lawyers sent a counter claim againest me... After thousands of $$ in lawyers fees as well as payment of new kitchen I cannot aford this any more... How can I end this myself? What forms would I need to fill out and send???

If you are an individual you can represent yourself. However, the attorney would need to withdraw and an order would need to be signed by the judge allowing the attorney to withdraw. If you are a corporation then you must have an attorney.

But be careful. He who represents himself has a fool for a client. It will be extremely difficult for you to out-wit an attorney who is skilled in the law. This is just like Vegas; everyone is allowed to play, but if you lose, don't cry that you didn't know the rules. Good luck, and I recommend you hire an attorney close to you.
