permitting a job with a lien already in place
a person has a lien on their home. they would like me to do some work for them which i need a permit for.when i file the notice of comm.and pull a permit for the job.will the lien that is already on the home wil it become 1st in line or if he does not pay me can i still file a lien.could this harm me in any way {the first lien}

Assuming that the original lien that was filed is valid then yes, that lien would have priority over you. This may or may not matter to you depending on how much equity is in the house. Possible resolutions: Get payment in full in advance, have the funds held by an escrow agent, have the owner post a payment bond(expensive). Good luck,
