Problems with a contractor

My father and I are expanding our bowling center to an amusement center. We hired a contractor to add a 27,000 sq ft. building to our existing building in November of 06'. To keep it short, the contract we signed said the building was $150,000, and work to be done was $265,000. We have paid $107,000 for the building already(paid in Feb.) and $50,000 for work done(which is almost nothing). The only work done is a footer dug and a few sections of rebar installed. He is saying that we are still under contract with him and that we owe him $171,000 dollars for him to deliver our building and to leave the site. He says we still owe $100,000 for the building which is propesterous, and he says we still owe him $71,000 more for work done. I have another contractor on site and he says that there is only about $30,000 worth of work done. He has set back our opening date by 3 months and is continiung to fight with us. I know that there are many more details that must be known, but from the quick version of the story is there anything we can do?
