Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida
I was given a purchse order from a general contractor to do commercial construction. The P.O. stated that i would be paid on or about the 25th of the following month. It has been six months and the Contractor tells me that he hasn't been funded and he will not pay until he is paid. I understand on a general contract that this shift of ownership is possible but i have a cut and dry P.O. that does not state this.
Please advise

You are correct in stating if your PO does not state this, you should not have to wait until the contractor is paid to receive your payment. Even in cases where this is written in your PO, courts have ruled you should only have to wait a reasonable amount of time in order to receive payment even if the contractor has not been paid.
