Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida
I recently have been banned from the construction site I have been working at for the past 3 weeks. Can the general contractor restrict access to a subcontractor's employee for any reason at all? I was working in a mechanical room adjacent to a hotel lobby with a marble floor being prepared to be grouted. I was ordered to leave the work site at once without warning and told never to return. Had I simply been asked to move to another area to work due to the grouting about to take place I would have. This incident has put a strain on my employer who relies heavily on me to complete his work.

That is less of a constitutional law question and likely more of a contract law question. Whether the GC can dictate to the subs who works at the site depends on the contract between the parties. Without seeing the contract, I cannot say, but I am guessing the contract allows for it. If you would like me to take a look at the contract I would be happy to do so. Good luck.
