Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida
Unliscensed Contractor
I had a contractor install a HVAC system in my home. The work was half completed. In the middle of the job he asked for a favor in that pay the final amount before completing the job. Quess what...he now he doesnt answer his phone. Therefore, I checked and found out he is not a Florida liscensed contractor either. I would like file a law suit but florida law negates any contract or agreement, leaving me no recourse. I would like to press charges but it apprears I may be held criminally liable for hiring him. How would you recommend I proceed from here?

Re: Unliscensed Contractor
Florida law does not "negate any contract or agreement leaving [you] no recourse." You have a valid claim.
