Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida
Workers comp exempt
My husband owns a fencing company, it is usually just him working but on occation he has a (1) helper. My husband has filed to be workers comp exempt, does he have to have workers comp on that 1 (on occation) employee?

Re: Workers comp exempt
Given that there is only a single, part-time helper, he probably will not need worker's compensation.
However, there are a number of issues about which your husband may not know which could cause him problems later on.
If you or your husband would like to discuss these issues, I would be happy to discuss them with you at your convenience.
