3 pieces of glass in product

I purchased a product that was a mean in a box where all you have to do is add chicken and bake. after the meal was completely cooked I placed some on my plate the second or third fork full of rice i placed in my mouth i was startled when about an inch of glass stabbed the roof of my mouth I called the manufacturer and reported my discovery of 3 one inch peices of convex glass in the meal. I informed them i would be going to the doctors to get blood work done. they have since had a rep from their company come out and retreive the glass pieces for analysis. What should I do? I have a report number and a number to contact them. is the only thing that i can be compensated for my medical bills ?
