Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
24yr old son recently deceased, has title to a 1984 Chevorlet Caprice, told by title co that he had never
registered the title in his name, was not driving the car because his license was suspended, was
restoring the auto, rebuilt engine etc. Title co contacted original owner who sold he car to him almost
two years ago. This person turns out to have a long criminal record, and since he has found out that my son is deceased, he went down and applied for a duplicate title and is trying to claim the car back. Even though we have the title with his signature as seller and my son's name as buyer.
Can he legally do this?
1 Answer from Attorneys
He can but it is illegal. Call the police.
