Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

I asked my health insurer if certain tests and blood work were covered by my insurance plan. I was told yes, said tests are. However what was omitted was if my Dr. classifies these tests as routine or elective then they are not covered. My bill for these blood tests turned out to be about $900. I feel that I was misled, I wouldn't have had these tests had I known that my insurance would not cover them. Isn't my medical insurer liable for fraud or misrepresentation?

Call the doctor's office and discuss it with them. I am sure they had you sign something when you first went that said you would pay for any costs not covered by insurance. If they mislabeled/classified the tests, then ask them to correct their paperwork so that your insurance covers it as they promised because you did not consent to elective tests. Regards,
