Bad Business Opportunity

I purchased a Health Recruiting business opportunity in 9/2005 for $26,700. I worked at it for over a year putting in 40-50 hrs/week. The training and resources did not live up to the claims and I actually ended up making a loss when you include costs of running a business.

I recently discovered that according to the FTC I should have been given the names and phone# of 10 current business owners located closest to me. However I only received 3 names and #s and they were not the closest geographically.

This is also in violation of the Florida statutes, which is where I live. I believe I was denied the opportunity to fully evaluate the pros and cons of running this type of business. I have made informal efforts to get my money refunded but the company have now stopped communicating with me.

What should my next move be?

Probably, the paperwork that you signed fully protects the company. Your next step would be to take all the contract documents and other paperwork connected with the business purchase to a general business lawyer so he can take a look at it and evaluate your chances of success.
