Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

Bank issue / privacy

I was speaking with a

representative over the phone w/

Bank of America and was pretty

irate about some fees I received. I

was planning on going into the

branch and closing my accounts so

I asked the girl for her information

so that I can list her as one of the

reasons why I was deciding to do

this. She gave me her name, and I

looked up the locations of bank of

america call centers so I can verify

where she was located. When I

asked if she was in a specific city

and state she threatened to

contact corporate security. I never

threatened her, so I'm not really

worried too much about that but I

am concerned about whoever

investigates these things

contacting my employer. I work for

a bank myself, which makes this

sensitive for me especially with the

economy the way it is. Can the

bank legally contact my employer in

regard to a personal investigation?

Re: Bank issue / privacy

If you make a complaint, the bank has every right to investigate the matter, which can include contacting your employer, depending upon the nature of the complaint that you lodge and the response of the individual involved. If you work for a Bank, perhaps you should consider Banking with your bank.
