Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

Used Car With Problems

I bought a used car for $3450. I gave him $2450 and he's letting me pay monthly. It's been three months and I've done $700 in total in repairs with the car being out of commission for a total of three weeks over the past three months (I work and go to school). I owe this man $650 and feel like I shouldn't pay him since the repairs have totaled $700 and in the contract he signed off on the car being in great conidition and all the parts either new or recently changed which he promised before I made this deal. Can I legally do this and receive the title for the car? I'm thinking of taking him to court regarding this.

Re: Used Car With Problems

You should not enter into an agreement like thios without getting title already. You should have the title. Whether the $700 spent is properly owed by him depends on a lot of details. It was a used car after all. Things go wrong with a used car.
