Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Is the car my property?
A little over two years ago my ex-girlfriends parents loaned me $4000 to purchase a used 1997 Honda Civic. They put the title in my name with no lien. It says I am the only owner. A little over a year later their daughter and I broke up. They made me sign a handwritten paper saying I must make payments of $250 a month. I was forced into signing the handwritten papers and it is not notarized and there were no witnesses. Since I have come into some financial problems and I am unable to pay. Without the paper being notarized and with the title being on in my name with no lien can they go to court or repo my car?

"Forced?" Come on. You owe the laon amount. They have no lien and can't reposses the car, but they can sue you and can get a judgment and can enforce the judgment. Try to work something out with them.
