Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Cashing A Personal Check
I wrote a personal check to a business. They have not cashed it in several months. How long am I obligated to keep sufficient funds available to cover the check? Is there a time at which I am no longer obligated to pay?

Re: Cashing A Personal Check
I assume that you wrote the check to pay for something. You should therefore keep sufficient funds in your account to pay for what you bought. You can check with your bank to see when your check becomes "stale" -- that is, what time needs to pass before your bank will no longer honor the check? After that time the check becomes "no good." BUT -- confirm with your bank, in writing, whatevr they tell you so there is no misunderstanding.
