Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Construction -- Reroofing
My contractor ordered and installed the wrong color shingles as stated in the contract. He has offered to tear off and install the correct color, but I have reservations about having him redo my roof because he has proved to be unreliable. I am willing to accept the roof with the wrong shingles, but feel I should not have to pay the full amount of the contract. What are my options?

You can probably negotiate with the roofer for a lesser price if you agree to the shingles which are currently in place. The cost for the roofer to correct his error will be substantial both in labor and materials. Any savings to the roofer should be result in savings to you for at least a portion of the difference.
