Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Consumer issue
I want to file suit against Staples Corporation and UPS which damaged items from my mother's estate which I had paid insurance on hoping they would handle with care. They asked for one box back to inspect and sent it back to me 2 months later with the rest of the stuff in the box pulvarized. They accepted the claims but won't move on them, and have given me a run around for almost a year (have all the contacts and dates and copies of the online claims). Can I receive any award for gross negligence or emotional distress considering they destroyed irreplaceable items that had such sentimental value that were to go to my children since my mother had just died? In small claims court? How about my costs to appear in court in FL from Texas?

Emotional distress most likely will not be available. However, you can sue. Where in Florida?

I've seen lots of complaints about UPS not honoring its insurance. We could go over your contracts with them and tell you what your options are going to be.
