Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
A consumer reporting agency provided a negative report on me to a potential employer based on public information. According the the FCRA shouldnt this agency have verified that the personal info in the public record was a match to my identity? Shouldnt they have contacted me to inform me of this public record finding and that they would be providing it to a potential employer? Shouldnt they have reinvestigated upon notice of my dispute instead of advising me to go to the courthouse to find the records they referred to in their report and then forward it to them for further investigation?

See a consumer lawyer on this matter who does FCRA cases. I do not practice law in your state.
