credit card dispute

how can a card issuing co. , without notice combine 2 accounts onto one creating an overlimit balance because they told me after 3 months of regular payments that i was issued 2 accounts in error on their part . now my account is locked and cannot be used until the balance is reduced down to one card limit ???

You will have to work through this with them or have an attorney negotiate with them. If they made the mistake, they will probably be able to decide how they want to fix it, unless you can persuade them otherwise.
