Dog Adoption

My wife and I adopted a dog Sunday (4/5/09) on Tuesday (4/7/09) we had to take the dog to the emergency vet. The lady we adopted the dog from refuses to pay the bill because of the vet we took teh dog too.

There are not enough facts here to respond. What was wrong with the dog? What were the terms of sale. Often a seller will pay for the initial vet visit but they require a specific vet. If that was the case, then she would not be liable for a visit to the vet that was not agreed upon or stipulated.
