Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Can I get my dogs back?
When I was selling my house after my divorce the breeder that sold me my two english bulldogs asked if I would leave them with her to be breed while I was getting settled. After a couple months of my visiting the dogs she called and said I could not come there without an apointment. From then on she would not return my calls and has sent word that she is keeping my girls for there best interest. she says living with my parents is not a good place to have dogs and as long as I am dating the man that I am seeing now I will never get them back.. She has told me if I try and get them she will spay them and give them away as pets and I will never see them again. I am the owner of AKC record and for breeding purposes she is a co owner. Can I get my dogs back by going to her house and taking them out of the back yard? And if I can't and have to take her to court how do I keep her from following through on her threats. I paid $3'000.00 for the two of them and they are show dogs and probably the best she has ever produced. She has said nothing about paying me back for them. Not that I would take it. All I want is my girls back, what can I do?
