Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Florida Hotels - Room Rate Changes?
Can a hotel arbitrarily change a room rate once a reservation is secured with a credit card?
I traveled to Ft. Lauderdale last week and had a reservation for $52.50 on a hotel room. I secured the reservation with a credit card. Once I arrived (after paying a $40 cab fare), I was informed that the rate was $163.
Can a hotel raise its room rates on a room secured almost a month in advance by a credit card?

Re: Florida Hotels - Room Rate Changes?
Assuming you have the reservation paperwork and it does not say they can change the rate, the answer to your question is NO. I would contact the hotel management right away.
