Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

i am in florida. i sold a computer motherboard to someone on craigslist. SUpposedly when he got it back home, the integrated video didnt work. everything was talked about over email. most recently "hello. i would like you to know i have not forgotten about you and i am sorry for the delay. i have been having the worst time getting people to contact back via craigslist. i have found some deals online for relatively cheap graphics cards but not for anything i can get to close currently. It was never my intention to have any of this drag along and want you to know i havent forgot about you. I am still willing to refund you in exchange for the board or i could send you 15$ towards the purchase of a cheap graphics card, or if for some reason neither of those is acceptible i can continue to search for a useable graphics card. sorry for all the inconvenience." i havent heard from the person in a few days since i agreed to try and find a video card for them. ALot of what was said is just my attempt not to have everything sour but to be honest im tired of the whole situation. Im broke, and sold the board to generate some $$$$. already took like a 50$ hit as it cost me 85 and i sold it 35. As far as i knew (and it was stated to that effect) everything was in working order because other than opening it i had never used or attempted to use it. I am just kinda tired of the situation. I want to be done with the whole situation but would like to know if it will incur legal action against me. I cant imagine for 35$ it would but i would like to make sure.

In most cases sales made via craiglist are as-is transactions. If you made specific assertions about the usability of the item you may have created a warranty, but your email indicates you have done your best to honor a warranty if in fact you made one. As far as legal action, it is probably unlikely in your situation because a small claims suit is about $150-$200 just to file so it is not worthwhile for what is essentially a $20 dispute.
