Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

My friend recieved a copy of some legal papers via US mail (not certified just US 1st class) with a case number typed in the upper right hand corner. It seems that it looks like a creditor attempting to file a complaint against her for unsecured debt . Yet there is no information regarding a timeframe in which she has to respond nor is there any answer information. Will she recieve an offical copy from the court once it's filed or is a case number in the upper right hand corner on the unsigned document tell her that this has already been filed with the court. It looks to me like a notice of Summons, but I'm not sure how they would have a case number if it's not been filed with the court.

Thanks

She should probably see if the case has been filed. Service of a complaint by mail is ineffective unless you waive proper service.

If she is being sued, she will be served a court summons and a complaint.
