Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
My friends car was reposessed but inside the car I had alot of my stuff like my books for school and my backpack with other stuff in it. They told me they would let me get my stuff out of his car if I paid them $175.00. Is this legal? I realize they have a right to take the car, but taking stuff that doesnt belong to the car owner wouldnt that be considered stealing and do they have a right to charge me to get my stuff back even though its not my car.

"They" have a right to NOT let you get anything out of the car. If "they" say okay you may get your things, technically, they are breaking the law. If you want your stuff, I suggest you pay it and walk away.
