Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
my girlfriend braught her electric scooter to a repair shop, they wanted $75 to check it out to see what was wrong. we didnt have the money with us and we left it there for a few days to try and come up with it. we couldnt and I went back yesterday to pick it back up. the owner wouldnt let me take it and he wanted the $75 because he said he was pissed and the money was his charge for his employee to put it in the computer. my girlfriend didnt sign a bill or anything because we didnt have the money. He didnt say there would be a charge for it being put in the computer. if he doesnt return it without being paid, can he be charged with theft and does he have the right to still charge me for no repairs done.

Tell him that if he does not release the scooter you will call the police and if they do not do any thing you will sue him in small claims court for conversion of property and unfair and deceptive trade practices.
