Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Idenitity Theft
A woman w/ the same name as me, living in FL used my ss# to rack up $thousands in debt. She opened several accounts and loans. She worked for a Credit reporting company and claimed that is where she got the info. She is in jail charged w/ 5 felony charges so far. Can I sue the Company where she worked for negligence?

Re: Idenitity Theft
YES! (Assuming other things check out, like
whether there is jurisdiction in Virginia, and
whether you can prove the facts as you describe
them, etc., etc.)
Where are you in Virginia? You should see a
lawyer.
Re: Idenitity Theft
Yes. If you lived closer to me I would be very interested in the case. Good luck finding an attorney and act quickly so you don't miss any legal filing deadlines!
Re: Idenitity Theft
