Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
what are the laws of fl pertaining to a debt owed to a credit card company? Do they have a right to put a lein on your bank account and what rights so you have if they do?

You should seek advise from a consumer lawyer. First, you must receive proper notice of the claim; a violation of the notice requirements may make them liable to you. Second, they have to sue you and get a judgment. Believe it or not, with a consumer lawyer representing you, this is not easy for a collection company to do. Assuming they win, only then can they attempt to put a lien on your property or garnish an account. See my web site under garnishment and collection violations.
