Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Is it legal for a bank to refuse to accept state issued ID because it is not a driver's license? The Id card is issued by the DMV and requires the same proof id identiy as a driver's license. The bank says they don't accept state issued Id but will accept driver's license. is this legal?

If you have a Florida state issued ID with your photo on it, it seems that the bank would accept this. A lot depends on what it is that you want the bank to do. If you want the bank to cash a check made out to you, and you do not have an account at that bank, then the bank is probably within its rights to set the standards for ID. I suspect that you have an ID without a photo, or not from this state, and that you are trying to get a bank (where you do not have an account) to cash a check.
