Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
I live in Florida and have a mortgage through GREENTREE. They refuse to help me do a loan modification stating they are not a participating company. So, based on unforseen financial problems, I will soon be 2 months behind but going to make a pymt on the 10th. They are very quick threatening forclosure on me and I am very scared. How many months behind before they actually can in my state. I have paid every month, but I am always running behind. This is the most I have been in awhile. I am a single mother taking care of a daughter and elderly mom. Its been really rough and this company is very rude and quite franly they scare me. If there is any help you can give me, I would appreciate it very much. I am not sure what area of law this falls under.Thank you.

Generally, once you are in default the mortgage company may begin the foreclosure process. However, there are several legal duties they must perform before they can go to court. Contact a consumer lawyer!
