Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
I made a complaint to the BBB asking a company for a refund
I made a complaint to the BBB asking a company for a refund. I stated my issues in the complaint, and that the resolution I was seeking was for a full refund of $3,460.00 to my account. The company responded to the BBB with this statement '''' WE HAVE THOROUGHLY REVIEWED MS. COMPLAINTS AND SHE IS CORRECT IN THAT AN ONLINE UNIVERSITY IS NOT IDEAL FOR EVERYONE. WE EMPATHIZE WITH MS. AND AS A RESULT PROCESSED A REFUND TO HER ACCOUNT. IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER CONCERNS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME''.
This response was made on 9/22/06 following my complaint date of 9/21/06. They are saying the refund was applied of $286 on 7/27/06. (before the complaint was made). They have not and will apply refund now to my account after they already stated they would the the BBB. What can I do?

Re: I made a complaint to the BBB asking a company for a refund
Since you obviously have further concerns regarding this matter, why not take the person who purportedly authored this response to the BBB up
on the invitation to contact him or her
(by phone)and find out what exactly is going on?
If they continue to stonewall or fail to provide you with the full refund which you've requested, then your next option is to file suit in small claims court (preferably, in Florida if that's where this alleged institution of higher education is in fact located).
