Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Movers
I hired a moving company to move a small amount of things from Michigan to California. They only picked up part of them and dumped them in a warehouse in Indiana where it has been sitting for a week. Originally the contract was for $1780 and now they are trying to charge me $4,200 for what they have and more to pick up the rest back in MI. I had everything in a storage unit that is 10x15 and holds 477c.f. They are trying to tell me that I had 900 c.f. on the truck not including what they left at the unit.
My question is....what rights do I have? I talked to them today and he is starting litigation to collect the 4,200. When I suggested that they take it all back, he said I still have to pay them even though they didnt fulfill the contract. They are based in Florida so I dont know which state the law applies to. HELP!!!!

read the contract. it will probably say which state law applies.
