Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
negligence
took a 4 day cruise to mexico last week on royal caribbean. enter ship with a debit card that had $300. drank heavily and started gambling by getting casino markers. lost 3,000. prior to me taking the markers, i was given written communications that my card was refused but they continued to give me markets. i feel that i was taking advantage of since they knew or should have known i was drunk and had no credit to pay the markers. when we landed at fort lauderdale, they refused to let me leave the boat. they coerced my parents to pay my tab or they said i would go to jail. Can they do this and do i have legal recourse.

Re: negligence
Other than kidnapping you and enforcing an uncollectabkle debt, the cruise line did little wrong. To review your remedies call a competent attorney.
