Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
my nephew bought a used care from a dealer ($500.00 cash) and the engine blew up before he got home. The title transfer has not occurred (we were to do that today). Does he have any rights? He said he's going to call them to come pick it up (I guess they still own it without the title transfer), and they can make an additional $200.00 selling it for junk. I think he's being extremely calm about this, but I just wondered if he had any recourse. Thank you.

Most used cars are sold "as is." The way to get around this is if there was fraud or a breach of warranty. You will need to discuss this with a lawyer w.ho handles auto fraud cases. Go to the National Association of Consumer Advocates web site to find a lawyer in your area.
