Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

pet healthcare contract

I have four dogs enrolled in a

Banfield healthcare contract in

Petsmart for several years now. I

have moved from Atlanta, Georgia to

a small town in Chipley Florida near

Panama City Florida in January of

this year, There is a Banfield in the

Petsmart here in Panama City, They

have been saying they would open

for business any day now, that was

over Three months ago, I have to

continue to pay the monthly

premiums for my dogs as they

automatically deduct it from my

credit card. When I called Banfeilds

main office and explained that I feel

that it is totally unfair to be charged

for their healthcare services when

there are no providers available, and

that it has been over three months

that they have been saying that it is

due to them not being able to find a

veternarian, they are unwilling to

put a freeze on the payment until

they open for business here, and I

cannot drive 5+1/2 hours back to

Atlanta with them to get the benefits

I am paying for and entitled to. They

informed me that if I break the

contract that I will still have to pay

for the whole year. I feel victimized

by them because I am paying for

services that are not being made

available to me.

Re: pet healthcare contract

I or any other attorney would need to read your contract with them to know if I could help you force their hand to be fair about this issue.
