poor workmanship and material

In July 2008, paid 4000 to have a concrete driveway put in; driveway has numerous cracks and the driveway never cured properly. Worker wants another 1000 to ''fix the problem. Is my driveway covered under any express Florida warranty law/do I have recourse

Don't risk throwing good money after bad by hiring the same contractor to fix his own mistake. I think you should obtain 3 estimates from other contractors, and hire one of the other contractors fix the driveway. If any or all of them think the driveway was never done right to begin with, have them sign statements to that effect. If the original contractor's work was not proper, then you can sue him to recover your cost to fix it. Probably a small claims case which does not require that you hire an attorney.

You will need someone in that business to look at the work to see if it was done correctly. If not done correctly, get the person to sign a statement to that effect and what the cost of repair is to fix it. Then you have a case and recourse.
