private hotel information

the husban of a guest came and ask for the copy of the hotel bill to see if his wife was using his credit card, employee give to him, wife came back and said that is invation of privacy, and will sue the hotel, can we give the name or bill copy to others people that knows the guest staying in a hotel? thank you.

You really should not do that. It would have been better if you had just told the husband that you can give a copy of the bill only to the person who was staying in the room or to whomever she allows to receive it. He could have found out whether she was using his credit card by calling the credit card company. Most of the time that information is even available online. The credit card people can get the bill and send it to him.

Don't worry about the wife, though, she does not have much if anything of a suit. She was not damaged and no jury will feel very sympathetic that she was caught cheating on her husband, which is what it sounds like was going on.
