Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
I was promised a $200 grocery gift certificate as part of a promotion when I moved into my apartment. I was to receive it after paying first months rent, etc. I have now been there approx. 6 months, and still have not received it. Every month when I pay my rent, I inquire about it, and get told it will be here any day, tied up in corporate office, etc. What can I do? Thanks!

Tell the apartment manager, in writing, that they have 10 days to provide the gift certificate, and if they fail to do so, then file a small claims suit against the apartment complex for $200 plus filing/service fees. Be prepared to provide proof of the offer. Write down names of who told you what, and where and when this took place. The court will decide whose story makes the most sense, but this isn't something that a renter is likely to "make up". Good luck.
