Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Question about the return of a bathing suit...
I am a retail manager of a clothing store. I have an irate customer wanting to return a bathing suit to our store. I explained our policy on the subject and she is now threatening to call a lawyer. Is there a state or federal law governing the return of an item like this to a retail store? Thank you.

Re: Question about the return of a bathing suit...
Laws which apply are: Florida Chapter 672, and the Federal Magnuson Moss Act.
I would be surprised if you were contacted by a lawyer. Unless related, I a awyer would charge more than the bathing suit is worth just to even meet with your customer. Additionally, the amount to file a small claims action probably isn't worth it either. Good luck.
