Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Refund without Contract?
Six months ago I hired someone in Florida to represent me in a child custody case. She told me to send the down payment and she would e-mail the contract for me to sign; I paid the $3500 down payment with a credit card; she never sent the contract. As of this day I'm in the same position I was in six month ago minus the 3500.00. She's not returning my calls and I haven't sent me anything to prove she is working the case. Because I didn't sign a contract can I get my money back so I can hire someone who might care.

Re: Refund without Contract?
A contract as you describe need not be in writing. Write and demand your money back. If the lawyer has not done anything, then you should not have a problem. If you do, you should report her to the Florida Bar.
