Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

repayment of loan

I have a friend who has not fulfilled their obligation of repaying me $1100. as decribed in their promissory note. The problem is we both live in Florida however they will be moving to New York in the very near futute. If I file suit and they cannot be served because they moved out of the state what happens?

Nothing. Just serve them in New York. Florida has jurisdiction over them if the loan was made here and the debt is owed here and the payments were missed here -- all as imnplied by your question.
