Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
Rights Against Wrongful Collection
I canceled an account with Verizon within the period allowed. They charged me $106.99 for a month of usage AFTER my cancellation. I called a number of times and was finally told my account was settled with $0.00 balance. Now, I just received a notice from a collection fee. What is my recourse from a debt collector for a debt I don't owe. Is there a governing authority to report them to.
