Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
I was not satisfied with the quality of the installation of carpeting in my home and withheld payment from the company pending a rework of the job. The company has not responded to my complaint saying they found nothing wrong with the installation. After 6 weeks I had the carpet inspected by another company and had them fix the carpet. I sent numerous letter to the first company asking them to fix it with little response. I am now being sued by the first company for the remainder of the contract due saying I owe them the full amount of the contract plus legal fees they have incurred for having to pursue me for the amount due. What can I do to prepare a defense for what I consider incomplete work of poor quality?

You will need the testimony of the carpet people that fixed it and pictures. If the court concludes there was nothing wrong, then you lose.
