Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
I am in South Florida. I was at a major car dealership one night and after about two hours of negotiations that ended up in me not purchasing a vehicle, I was approached by my running, frantic sales man who instructed me to PLEASE sign a credit card application or else he would get in trouble with his boss and get fired. I then said, "Sign a document..for what?" He kept saying please sign this and when you get your credit card in the mail just send it back to the card company. I then rolled up my window, leaving the salesman holding the unsigned form, as he continued to write down my tag info, etc. I said to my wife who was next to me in the vehicle, that I hope that this guy hasn't applied for a credit card in my name. True enough, a few days later I received a credit card in the mail in the amount of approx. $1900 dollars. I was furious because I have an excellent, high credit score and I already have two credit cards already. When you apply for another credit card, your credit score is automatically reduced. This reduction affects my interest rate on the things that I have to pay for already, and it affect that costs of the items that I will purchase in the future. All that aside, This is obvious fraud and I would like to know my options. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Have a great day.
