Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida
I'm Being Threatened With A Slander Suit
There is a company that advertises on TV and on the internet buying gold. I sent gold jewelry to them, and they delayed processing and did not give me remotely what I believe the jewelry was worth. I posted on a consumer complaint board (this company has many other complaints against it). Everything I posted was true. Now the CEO of the company is calling and e-mailing me threatening to sue me if I don't remove the posting. I live in California but the company is in Florida. Does he have legitimate grounds to sue me?

That depends on exactly what words you used. Generally, speech intended to educate or warn the public is protected by the first amendment.

You mean there are really people who mail their gold in envelopes to strangers?

You can always be sued for defamation and the truth is your only real defense. If you can prove what you posted is true, then you are safe. Otherwise, it could get ugly. If you posted on RipOffReport.com then you'll never be able to get the post removed.
